THANK GOD FOR MUSIC

“I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously. I will tell of Your name to my brothers and sisters. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.”

O heavenly Father God, how I thank you for the joy of music and praise. I look for every opportunity to bless and praise You at all times in song and dancing. I am at ease and completely relaxed as I meditate upon Your word with soft background music. My spirit is renewed and my soul is refreshed. I am revitalized as I establish a fresh sense of confidence and poise. The fish of the sea and the birds of the air make wonderful music, as do the rustling of the leaves in the trees as well as the sweet laughter of children on the playground. I thank you God for this special blessing; a gift that only true love can give to cause a harsh spirit to be tamed and charmed; rocks to be softened and bend a knotted oak.

Music sometimes brings back pleasant memories as it conveys love and joy when it catches the ear. Thank You dear God, for song that helps those who may stutter or have a speech impediment, to more easily express themselves because it is a tool of speech therapy in the development of good listening skills, auditory skills, memory and rhythm of speech. Thanks again for music in the deepest parts of caves, the highest mountains and the valleys low. Music makes our hearts glad and connects smiles across the miles. 

You have told us dear Father, that we should come, and sing to the Lord; that we should make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!”  In so doing, we have learnt to develop breath control, and relieve the tension of the constant struggle of language training in the education of children who are deaf. We thank and praise You for this very special and wonderful gift, dear God. And when my vocal chords become tired, dear Father, I will praise You with chants and musical instruments in Your sanctuary; in Your mighty heavens! Praises be unto You for mighty deeds; Spiritual songs of praise and Psalms to You according to Your excellent greatness! Melody, song music and lutes, harps and trumpet will sound out music to You. Thank You dear God for loud clashing cymbals, pipes, tambourines and dance; I praise You with strings and pipe!

Let us rejoice and sing as we make melody to the Lord with our hearts. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Truly, we are thankful and we say “Praise the LORD!” Amen.
